Grace United Methodist Church is a community which welcomes all people into full inclusion in the life of the congregation; a reconciling congregation.
This is a safe community in which to explore your faith beliefs and doubts. This is a smaller congregation with an average of 70-90 in worship each Sunday. There are many retired people, several families, and a few young single people who are apart of the community. The congregation runs an after school program for a group of students at Rose Park Elementary, and works at the United Methodist Free Store housed at Evangelical United Methodist Church. Rev. Susan Otey is the pastor of Grace United Methodist Church. She is a graduate of Iliff School of Theology and has been at Grace for the past 6 1/2 years. Susan works to create a worship experience where each person can experience God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, and feel the love and the challenge in that connection. Susan guides the congregation to connect more deeply with: *GOD through prayer, scripture, and silence *EACH OTHER through sharing our prayers and small group ministries *OUR NEIGHBORS by serving with the after school program, in the Free Store, or connecting with the people who live around us WORSHIP, a time to experience God/Jesus/Holy Spirit through scripture, music, prayer, silence and connection happens each Sunday morning from 10:15am-11:15 There is a DISCUSSION GROUP that meets on Sunday mornings at 9am in the Fireside room (done the hall on the right as you enter the front doors) to talk about scripture. Each week the group reads a passage and looks at that passage in its historical context, and discusses how that passage speaks each person. PRAYER, a time to develop a connection to the holy happens with Susan on Mondays from 4:45am-5:15 and on Thursdays from 6am-7. This is a directed time of connection, both listening for God and sharing with God. FOLLOW FAITHFULLY groups meet after worship on the first Sunday of the month for an hour. They discuss the sermon, what they heard, and how they want to respond in the coming weeks.

Jesus spent a lot of his time eating and drinking with people. So much so that his meals (and his choice of meal companions) often got him into trouble. Jesus’ meals were acts of grace, mercy, love, and justice. Our October worship series invites you to take a place at our table, and discover what it means to be transformed by Grace!
Modern life is busy ... schedules filled up with meetings, classes, and social time; the constant deluge of the 24 hour news cycle; technology is everywhere, keeping us leashed to our jobs and stuck in the social media cycle! But what if we just took the time to shut it all off, empty our schedules, and take the time to reconnect with ourselves, and with an unhurried God? That is what our upcoming worship series "Busy" will be taking a look starting this Sunday, August 26th, and all through the Fall! Come join us every Sunday at 10:15 at Grace United Methodist Church, and get reconnected!
